With a rigorous educational background from Loyola University Chicago, including a Master's in Nursing and current candidacy for a PhD, Megan is at the forefront of nursing practice and patient advocacy.
Since joining Shapiro Vein Center in 2022, Megan has been pivotal in patient education on chronic venous insufficiency, lymphedema, restless legs, and cosmetic treatments. She performs treatments like ultrasound-guided chemical ablation, visually guided sclerotherapy, and neuromodulator cosmetic injections. Her approach is holistic, prioritizing patient education, evidence-based practice, and superior treatment outcomes.
Megan's extensive experience includes a long-standing tenure at Loyola University Medical Center, where she greatly impacted patient care in the Burn Center. Her years at Loyola were instrumental in shaping her expertise in managing complex wounds and contributing to a multidisciplinary approach in patient care. Her role at Vein Clinics of America and a stint at the University of Chicago’s Burn and Complex Wound Center further diversified her clinical skills.
Megan’s dedication extends beyond clinical practice to research, with notable contributions to understanding coping after burn injury, pressure ulcers in spinal cord injuries and the incidence of sepsis in burn patients.
