After being a patient of Dr. Shapiro in 2017, Claudia Lehene, PA-C joined his clinical care team in 2018. She graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine with a Masters Degree in Medical Science as a Physician Assistant. Her certifications include an Illinois Physician Assistant License, a National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Board Certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification, and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Claudia is a well-respected physician assistant with vast knowledge in venous disease and treatment. She is proficient in all aspects of venous disease diagnosis and treatment. Within her role as a Physician Assistant, Claudia assists Dr. Shapiro in all aspects of the clinical practice, performs new patient consultations, post-procedural follow-ups, provides education and diagnostic assessment, develops patient care plans, and provides sclerotherapy and aesthetic treatments. Claudia is always excited to learn more about the emerging field of vein disease and how she can better help her patients.

Claudia’s career as a Physician Assistant has allowed her the opportunity to provide direct patient care while balancing life as a wife and mother of two. In her free time, she likes to travel with her family and enjoys skiing, kitesurfing, team handball, and triathlons. Claudia is fluent in Romanian and Spanish.
